8 Things to Remember When Starting Any Blog

1  Start your blog on the right platform.  There are many companies out there where you can start a free blog but no matter who they are and what services they offer it would still best to choose the number one writing platform which is WordPress.com.

A blog can be started either by signing up for free or by getting your domain which will make your blog unique. This will insure that you can now start building your house.

2  Choose the template which will fit your personality and business.  You can choose many different templates and view these templates before you install them on your WordPress.com website. This can save you a lot of time later and you won't have to change your whole site around if you are happy with the correct template and sometimes the keyword here is simple is best.

3  Choose a template which is not complicated and will work for your business as well. I have to admit that this is indeed the easiest way for anybody to start a blog.

4  Get the main elements together on your blog.  A few pages must be created and then added to your menu in your back office. This includes about us page, home, contact us, privacy policy, income disclaimer if needed. The privacy policy can be created for free online.

These pages important and it will tell your audience more about your business and what type of services you are offering. Not only is it fun to create your blog, but it is all about your personality as well.

WordPress.com is not a difficult site to work with and in time you will do it with eyes close.

5  Add content that is relevant to your site.

Adding content is the best way to add more value for your subscribers. The most important thing is to give them more than what they are asking for. We are not all writers but if you don't have the time to add content it can always be outsourced.

6  Spend time on a regular basis to update your content.  There is nothing worse than going to a site and the author just seemed to have abandoned his site. It isn't always true that the biggest sites are the most popular. The one thing that they do that we can really learn from them is that they make sure that they are consistent.

7  Learn more about SEO methods.  Unfortunately, we were not born with all the knowledge in the world. Spending time on doing research that can help your site is a definite investment and one that you can always use to improve your site.

It is only the beginning that is the hardest, but learning how to optimize your site will not only bring your site more traffic, more sign ups but most definitely build your community or your list.

8  Focus on what you do know and not what you don't know.  There will be technical things that you don't understand at first, but this is not a problem. This will only be an indication of how many things you will still need to learn.

The internet is filled with free source offering information on any topic or subject that you might acquire or need. Spend your time wisely and focus on what you still need to learn before things will change around for you.

Finally, no matter what you do never give up Build a blog or website can be overwhelming at first and the wonderful thing about the mind is that we remember by practice on a regular basis. These are simple things to remember, but very important if your blog is going to be successful.

I had to redo my template in the beginning and this took me three months. Now I do understand that if I had this knowledge in the beginning, it would have changed my world around.

Learning one thing every single day will improve your life and your blog. In the beginning you might not see results and it is only temporary. The main thing to remember is to do what 90% of marketers will never do and that is sticking it out until you are happy with the end results.

One of the biggest mistakes most marketers do nowadays, is think email marketing is dead. Many marketers today drop the email marketing scheme to go with social media. Come to think of it, social media look much more sexy than email. But, is a social media post really as effective as an email? Before we answer that question, lets state a well known fact. It is easier to send a friend request on Facebook than to collect an email online. But believe me, email marketing is thrice as worth it as social media marketing. So, what is email marketing?
Email marketing is the targeting of customers through emails. Every emails sent to a potential customers can be considered as email marketing. Email marketing involves sending a promotional email or an ad to a subscriber. Via his email address. A great deal of organisations today use email marketing. Even more bloggers do use email marketing today than ever before. For example, have you ever been browsing on a website, and you see some field where you are asked to submit your name and email to get a free eBook or update? That is the front part of email marketing.
Most bloggers use email marketing because it enhances the customer experience. With a well targeted email list, you can reach established customers and prospective ones too. Any given subscriber will be informed better and more easily via email. The email will have a greater visibility than a Facebook post. The Facebook post will be drowned in a stream of content in the minutes following its posting.

We are talking greater engagement. Greater reach. Greater click through rate and more. As many experienced marketers say, " the money is in the list". Some even say "your net worth depends on your network". In the following lines, I will explain the advantages of email marketing. In these explanations, I will use statistics. The sites which produced those stats will be mentioned at the end of this article. So, let's get into the advantages of using email marketing.:
Potential Reach:
Did you know that in 2013, there were about 3.2 billion email accounts created in the world? 95% of online consumers use an email address. The most interesting fact is; 91% of those consumers check their email accounts at least once a day. Today, we browse more with our phones than our computers. As a result, we are more easily notified when we receive emails. Our phones place the notifications right in front of our eyes.
Today, it is easier to check to an email than a Facebook or Twitter post. This is because when we post content, so does a million other people. As a result, finding one particular post you liked 3 weeks ago can be the most daunting task.
Actual Reach:
Before I explain this part in more detail, let's get some interesting numbers. In the first half of 2013, a research conducted using emails as a marketing channel revealed some staggering facts. The one that stands out the most is this; 18% of the emails sent during a campaign never reach their destinations. 4% of the sent emails are sent into the spam folder. That makes 22% of the sent emails that do not actually reach the intended receiver.
On the other hand, 78% of the emails sent during an email campaign actually reach their destination. Think of it this way, If you send 1000 emails, 780 emails will reach their destination. In addition to that, 91% of the receivers check their emails daily. This means, about 709 receivers will actually see your email. This is great efficiency, as less than 30% of the emails sent are lost.
Now, let's compare these numbers with those of a Facebook campaign carried out in the same way. This revealed that 74% of the Facebook posts are actually lost within the big stream of content. That is a problem. That means, per thousand Facebook posts, 740 are lost in the stream of content. That leaves us with 260 posts seen by our target readers. Another bad thing is, everyone who sees your content will not actually click through. Less than half will actually do. That leaves us with less than 130 people who are actually interested in our offers.
Click Through Rates:
In the previous point, we talked about what percentage of people who see and may like your posts and mails. Now let's talk about people who actually complete the actions and do what you want them to do. Let's say clicking on a link. This link may take them to a landing page or a website.
Click through rate is the percentage of people that receive your message and actually click on it. The click through rate of a tweet is 0.5 percent as opposed to 3% for an email. These numbers look small at first. But, this means that people click 6 times more on an email link than on a tweeted link.
Let's keep on using our example of 1000 emails and 1000 social media posts. A 0.5% click through rate means per thousand, 5 people will actually click on your link. This is for social media. Sometimes the click through rates are higher, but those are particular cases. The numbers we use here are average ones.
A 3% click through rate with emails means 30 clicks per thousand. That is the best click through rate you will obtain on average. The numbers are not astounding, but efficient numbers are not always astounding. The difference is such because, when people give you their email addresses they actually want to hear more form you.
Your Readers Want It This Way:
Most people use social media to communicate with friends first. Seldom are they used to receive business news and reviews. There are specialized websites for that. 77% of the users during a survey online said they prefer to receive promotional messages in their emails. 4% said they prefer these messages on social media. This speaks to the fact that by submitting an email, people are literally giving you a business meeting location.
Emails Are Private:
It is easier for a reader to express his problems in private than in the open. Everybody is not comfortable when it comes to expressing their shortcomings in the open. When a user wishes to express his struggles and he can't meet with you, what does he do? He writes you an email. This way, he can tell you everything. You can answer specifically to him.

You want to use emails if you want to boast your online presence. Also, this is for you if you want to enhance reader experience. Setting up an email marketing campaign is not really expensive. What is blogging?
Blogging is a personal web log, in which a person would journal about their day. The word "Blog" was derived from the words "web log" combined. Many entrepreneurs notice a great marketing potential in having a blog, and blogging began at that point of time. A blog can not only be used for marketing, but also, a home business or a personal opinionated platform.
Aren't Blogs the same as Websites?

You can improve your thinking and writing skills through this and make sure you develop in a risk free platform.

Disadvantages of blogging
There aren't major downsides to blogging, but blogging takes a lot of dedication and time to take and maintain the structure and flow of a popular and quality assured blog to attract the viewers and keep it going. More updates means, more ideas to update about. You have to have a constant idea and plan of what to write about in your next blog in order to keep the flow maintained. Blogs take time in becoming popular or well known, as well as the wages that are possibly paid can depend upon the quality, the popularity and the effect over public social media over time, which can get a bit frustrating. When you set out to start your internet business, the first thing that you should think about is what you already know. Make a list of your hobbies, interests, education and even work experience. Remember classes from high school and college where you received information that might be helpful to other people, even books and magazines that you read. Are you able to home school children of different ages, do you feed a large family on a very tight budget or do you have a chore system that keeps the house clean and functioning no matter how many activities cloud the calendar.
There is plenty of information that you have right now that would help other people and that many people would be willing to pay to learn. The key is to get the possibilities laid out in front of you and then begin to build a plan around that information that will help you create opportunities to start making some money.
Next, you might want to ask friends and family about what they think are some of your strong points. The things that you would do whether you could make money or not are the things that you have the most passion for.
2. Would someone else pay you to do what you love? You might be surprised to find that there are people in the world who hate to do the things that you love doing. Your neighbors might be willing to pay good money to have you bring over a nice dinner each night or have it in their own kitchen when they come home. Your green thumb might turn into some greenbacks if you take some of your plants to the flea market or fairs and sell them to eager buyers or you might do some digging in someone else's yard for a few extra dollars.
3. Can you turn the knowledge you have gained from your passion into a career? This goes back to the same principle you discovered in #2. Just because it's something you know doesn't mean everyone else gets it. You can take your knowledge and love for numbers and balance other people's finances for them. You can take your knack for saving a few dollars at the grocery store and teach others to do the same or do it for them. Your knowledge and experience in an area life may be the perfect way for you to create a living.
Finding your passion is as easy as 1, 2, 3. You Just need to ask yourself a few questions, review the list of strong points and categories that you have generated and see where your heart beats strongest.
What counts most here is your is your knowledge, experience and passion. You will soon have some steps that will help you establish yourself as an expert in the categories you choose to pursue.
But Before you jump in too far, you need to test the waters a bit and see which direction you need to be heading.
Research The Market
Do a keyword search.
a. First make a list of all words you think are associated with the niche you are most interested in pursuing.
b. Include common phrases that would be used when talking about the niche.
c. Use one of the free sites available to see how relevant the keywords and phrases are according to searches that other people are doing.
d. With a list of the most relevant keywords and phrases you will be able to create the best name for your website and the best description for drawing an audience.
Finding the best keywords will help you better understand the market. You will begin to understand what people are searching for and how to meet their needs.
Establish Yourself As An Expert
When people are looking for information about a product or service they prefer to listen to someone who knows the most about that subject or niche. You will have to promote yourself in a number of ways in order to become the dominating factor and a leader in your niche. Remember that it is the experts in different fields that will ultimately become the people most likely to sell books, products or just subscriptions to their sites.
It is not necessarily easy to establish yourself as an expert in any field. It does help however if you have an educational background in the subject area or niche.
But education is not everything. It is still possible to establish yourself as an expert if you are willing to put in the time and effort required.
1. Get in with the in crowd, you need to know who the top dogs are in your niche and you need to be constantly aware of what they are putting on their sites. Reference their material, comment on their sites or even write posts and articles that are inspired by the things that they are writing.
2. Become a guest blogger. Just like with a print magazine, contact the website owners of some of the blogs in your niche and offer to write a blog or series of blogs.
3. Get your name out and the name of your website. You can do this by posting quality articles on all of the free article sites that are out there. Include a link to your website and also include some information about what makes you the person to write about that subject.
4. Regularly visit forums and other groups that are top in your niche. Post quality responses to questions and even create articles based around the questions that you can then refer to readers.
5. Create an About page that includes all of your accomplishments in that particular niche. Include any work you have done in that field and material you may have written and any other pertinent information about your skills, education and abilities.
6. Keep learning and growing and presenting new information every day, the more you know the easier it is to become an expert in your field.
Being an expert in any field can make it easier to be successful in that field. There are still more ways to dominate the niche you have chosen even if you haven't reached expert status yet. Simply put, ANYONE can find their way to internet marketing success, some will find it early on and others will take a little longer.
This is just a summary of what it will take to become a dominating force in whatever niche you choose but, always remember hard work and determination can and will take you a long way toward realizing your dream. Whatever you do keep pushing toward that dream!
