Getting Traffic to your Website (2)

2.1  Guest Blogging -  Guest blogging is another great way to "siphon" traffic from a community of people interested in your market. A blog is a little less interactive than a forum, but it has many similarities.
Find some of the most popular blogs in your market and see if they accept guest bloggers. Some sites are up-front about this, with a page that explains exactly how to become a guest blogger for them. Other sites don't advertise it, but if you spend a bit of time reading through existing posts, you'll be able to see if the same person writes them all or if the site has used guest posts in the past.
Generally guest posts will have a resource box or author byline that gives more information about the author, as well as a link back to their website. If you see any of these, it's a good indication that the site accepts guest posts.
The key to getting your post accepted is to offer a high-quality article that the blog owner would be crazy not to accept. Spend even longer than you usually would researching, outlining and writing these posts. While it means an extra investment in time, you can get a lot of traffic clicking through to your site if your guest post goes live on a high-traffic blog.
And while this click through traffic will slow down once the post has been live for a while, it can continue indefinitely as that post gains traction in the search engines. Plus that resource link pointing back to your site will also help you with SEO in the long term, so this is a powerful strategy.

2.2  Article Submissions  -  Article submissions, or article marketing, can be another powerful traffic strategy that will provide you will both short-term and long-term benefits. Much like guest blogging, the short-term traffic will come from people clicking through on your resource box links to visit your website.
By submitting your articles to high-authority websites, you can leverage their power with the search engines to get your articles ranked quickly and generating traffic. This direct traffic can actually continue for the long term if your article gets some traction with Google and the other search engines, but it also helps your own site rank better so it starts generating search engine traffic of its own.
Which brings us to longer-term traffic strategies...

2.3  Long-Term Traffic Generation  -  We're going to look at three longer-term strategies for getting traffic to your websites:

1. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization
2. Social Media
3. Relationship Building

2.4  Search Engine OptimizationSEO is probably the most common free traffic strategy.

There are dozens of techniques for improving your rankings in the search engines, and just as many products that teach you how to implement them. Some of these methods work year after year while others are more short-lived.
You'll also see a lot of methods that would be considered gray hat or ***** hat meaning they might go against the terms of service of one or more search engines, or even cross legal lines.
You'll need to decide for yourself exactly what lines you're willing to cross in the interest of getting traffic to your website, but keep in mind that the stuff that crosses those lines tends to be the techniques that are more short-lived. They may require less work up-front, but in the long run you can wind up spending more time or money to maintain your traffic because things keep changing.

SEO is a huge topic that goes way beyond the scope of this report, but let's just look at a few of the most important principles. There are two main factors to SEO - on site and off site optimization. On site optimization is things like using your keywords in strategic places on your pages:

-The TITLE tag
-In the page content itself
-Image ALT tags
-etc.

At one time, repeating your keywords over and over throughout the page (known as keyword stuffing) would improve your results but the search engines have evolved well beyond that. Don't do this, just use your keywords and other related terms naturally in the content.

Blog For Fun And Profit

Blogging has become very, very popular in recent times and that popularity continues to grow by the day. Many blogs are run purely as a social outlet to share views, interests, information, etc. with friends and anyone else who wants to read. The vast majority of bloggers are not especially interested in using their blogs as a means of generating income but some people have seized on what is a great profitable opportunity.
If you are considering this latter option, however, simply sitting down at your computer and typing away is not going to bring in the money you are looking for. So how can you turn your blogging into a viable business? There are a number of ways that this can be achieved. Here are a few tips that will get you started and, hopefully, help you turn your hobby into a profitable career.
First of all, rather obviously, if you don't already have a blog you need to create one. Two of the most popular platforms these days seem to be 'WordPress' and Google's 'Blogger'. One big advantage of blogging sites is that they are usually free to set up and free to use. These are very easy to setup and there are many instructional videos on You Tube to help you with this.
Secondly, you need to decide how you are going to create income streams from your blog. There are a number of ways to do just that. The most popular way is to place adverts on your blog site. There are various internet based companies who will place adverts on your site for you. You will then receive a financial reward every time someone clicks on one of these ads. Google AdSense is one of the most widely used. An alternative is to sell a product or service from your website and use your blog to bring in customers. A sort of combination of these two strategies would be to advertise someone else's product on your site and then get some sort of commission from that person. Whatever method you decide on to monetize your blogging you need a plan, a strategy to follow consistently to maximise your profits. Once you have your blog and your strategy in place you are your way to a blogging career.
The third and most important step is to drive traffic to your site. Once your blog is set up it will only be effective as a money-making source if people visit it. Internet marketing, to a large degree, is a numbers game. The more traffic you can bring to your website the more people will read your blogs and other content. By the law of averages more visitors equals more sales and/or ad-clicks. So, how are you going to draw that traffic to your blog site? In this the use of keywords is important. There was a time when keywords were almost the only criteria. That is no longer the case. Search engines now respond to activity, (ie - regular new posts, backlinks, etc.) You need high quality content on your site to bring traffic from search engines to your blog.
Blogging is an enjoyable pastime to many but the potential is also there to develop a profitable business if you are prepared to put in the time and effort to learn how.

A Blog Is a Relationship

Setting up a blog is easy, and free, with the use of WordPress and the many pre-formatted, customizable templates offered through their site. In my coaching, I teach clients how to set up a blog using WordPress and walk them through affordable hosting, utilizing the same host provider I use for my blogs.
More importantly...
Blogs build a relationship with your readers. Blogs give you the opportunity to communicate with your audience on an ongoing, and always up-to-date, basis. And unlike traditional publishing, with the comments section, blogs offer the ability of two-way communication with your audience. Your readers become invested in you in ways other forms of publishing just don't afford. This opens the doors to endless opportunities and gives your readers a sense of belonging and sharing in your journey, and thus your success.
What else?
Blogs by their very nature are always promoting. Unlike other websites, blogs are always changing and thus attracting search engines like Google to notice them on a regular basis. Today, blogs are considered a strong and reliable source of information. And, the production of good, solid content will cause your site to rise in the search engine rankings, attracting more and more readers along the way.
Social media is a part of everyday life now for people. And, with the share features and capabilities, your blog, every post on it, and every page can easily be shared by readers on multiple forms of social media, like Facebook and Twitter. Your readers do the advertising for you and their friends and followers become your potential readers and subscribers.
As is proven, bloggers can be considered experts on their topics of choice regardless of their qualifications. They are judged solely on the strength of the content on their blog. This means anyone can share what they're passionate about and grow, with their blog, as an expert in their field.
Most importantly though, blogs allow you to share your passion with the world, make money doing it, and do what you love every day.
A blog is a relationship. It connects the reader with you in a way no other website can.
A reader comes to your site because your topic interests them. A reader hangs around because, through your writing, they identify with you in some way. This is a great advantage over other types of websites. With your writing, you can build both desire and trust. Desire to have what you are promoting and trust in you as the expert. Do this and you will make money with your site.
So, how do you build trust with your audience? By writing rich, quality content that reflects your passion. You don't have to be tied down creating lots of content, you just have to have good content. Good content is essential. With good content, you can post to your blog as little as once a week and still make good money. Remember, a blog is conversation with your reader, so let your style and your passion come through in your writing.
As you grow, so will the comments on your blog. The ability to comment on content in a website lets your reader feel connected with you, a part of things. In addition, it carries on the conversation you started, helping your blog to get noticed and to grow. And, it connects your readers to one another, turning your blog into a community.
Another great feature of blogs, your readers can receive an email with your new content every time you post. You don't need to rely on your reader coming back to your blog in order to see what you're sharing. Another great relationship building tool. (Feedburner makes this a simple process.)
Focus on producing quality content that your readers can identify with. Do this and your blog truly will be a relationship worth building on.

What Blogging Is All About

What is blogging?
Blogging is a personal web log, in which a person would journal about their day. The word "Blog" was derived from the words "web log" combined. Many entrepreneurs notice a great marketing potential in having a blog, and blogging began at that point of time. A blog can not only be used for marketing, but also, a home business or a personal opinionated platform.
Aren't Blogs the same as Websites?
The difference between a blog and a website is that Blogs are updated frequently while websites are not. Even if it's the simplest of blogs, an update is MUST on a daily basis for it to run smoothly. Blogs are also used for a more social approach to interact with other users and structure opinions to improve business and marketing strategies.
Advantages of Blogging
• It's totally free of cost! There are many platforms on the web that provide a free interface for users to create and post a blog post.
• Blogging is a great way to completely utilize your skills to showcase your ideas and have the flexibility to improve yourself through reviews, or comments left in by viewers or subscribers. It's like learning new things without any risk! (As long as ethical and legal issues do not involve) Great right? You can improve your thinking and writing skills through this and make sure you develop in a risk free platform.
• Some blogging sites may offer wages depending on the views and popularity as well as the quality of your blog content
Disadvantages of blogging
There aren't major downsides to blogging, but blogging takes a lot of dedication and time to take and maintain the structure and flow of a popular and quality assured blog to attract the viewers and keep it going. More updates means, more ideas to update about. You have to have a constant idea and plan of what to write about in your next blog in order to keep the flow maintained. Blogs take time in becoming popular or well known, as well as the wages that are possibly paid can depend upon the quality, the popularity and the effect over public social media over time, which can get a bit frustrating. So above all, patience and hard work are main key factors that are needed for a person to maintain a good blog and to keep the viewers satisfied. It is one of the important things to remember.

The "Sexiest" Thing About Free Traffic & the Best Times to Post

Introduction
As a blogger or Internet entrepreneur, you need traffic. If you are unfamiliar with the term, it simply means people going to your website or blog. Just like all of the people you encounter in their vehicles when you are driving to work constitute real world vehicular traffic, everyone surfing the web at any given time is a part of Internet traffic.
There are two ways to get traffic to your site.
  • 1) You pay for traffic.
  • 2) You get traffic for free.
Paid traffic is a smart part of a serious online entrepreneur's marketing plan. You control every aspect of traffic when you pay for it. Ad campaigns with Google, YouTube, Amazon and Facebook make it possible to laser-target your advertising to the exact demographics you want to reach.
However, paid traffic can cost you a lot of money, delivering little to no results, if you don't know what you are doing.  Even if you do eventually develop a successful paid traffic marketing plan, it doesn't happen overnight. You have to pump a lot of revenue into buying traffic each and every day, spend your time and testing and retesting, and there are no guarantees that you will get the results you're looking for.
The "Sexiest" Thing About Free Traffic  -  If you think the reference to free traffic as being "sexy" is a little overboard, you are incorrect. Free traffic is beautiful, sexy, attractive and desirable. Why is this so? The answer is simple... because it's FREE!
In many cases this doesn't just mean being free financially. A lot of methods you are about to learn require a little bit of your time on the front end, but then they just continue to deliver free, targeted traffic to your site or blog with little to no upkeep on your part.
Other methods will require regular input by you, but since your financial outlay is zero, and the Internet never sleeps, you can employ these free traffic methods anytime of the night or day, whenever you have a few minutes or hours of spare time.
Some of the free traffic sources are:
Start Building a List  -  You absolutely, positively must be building a list. This is true if your business is off-line or on, and technology makes it easy to do so when you have a blog or website. To build your list you need a freebie - Lists of resources work well here. A short PDF that answers one big problem your audience has is another winner.
Social Media  -  Social media can provide a lot of free traffic. However, there are so many worthwhile social media websites out there, you have to be careful not to spend the bulk of your time chasing this low-converting traffic. Regardless what social media "gurus" will tell you, the return on your time investment trying to get people from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn back to your website to join your list is not very high.
People go to social media sites to hang out. They are socializing. Make sure you approach them in a social manner. Don't ever attempt to sell on Facebook or the other social media sites. The Best Times to Post on Social Media  -  HubSpot studied tens of thousands of posts and updates on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media sites. They discovered the best possible times for you to engage your audience. Those times are listed below (as of June 2016).
Facebook:
  • 3 o'clock to 4:00 PM on Wednesdays
  • 1 o'clock to 4:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays
  • Noon to 1 o'clock PM on Saturdays and Sundays
Twitter:
  • Noon to 3:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays
  • 5 o'clock to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays
LinkedIn:
  • 7:30 o'clock to 8:30 o'clock a.m., noon, and 5 o'clock to 6:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • 10 o'clock to 11:00 o'clock AM on Tuesdays
Pinterest:
  • Evening hours every day
  • 2 o'clock to 4:00 o'clock AM every day
  • 5:00 PM on Fridays
  • 8 o'clock to 11:00 o'clock PM on Saturdays
Instagram:  Anytime between Monday and Thursday, avoiding 3:00 o'clock to 4:00 o'clock PM

* Understand that multiple factors will influence whether your content is shared, liked, commented on and develops engagement. However, if you stick to the times just mentioned, you give yourself the best possible chance of driving a lot of free traffic to your blog or website.
Mobile  -  In late 2015 mobile searches passed desktop searches on the Internet. Experts say that now (in 2017) more than 60% of all web searches are on mobile devices. This means several things. First off, most people are searching from their smart phones. This display is tiny compared to your laptop, your desktop and even your tablet
Build A Mobile Application: Don't worry; you don't need to be a web designer or app developer. You can head over to Fiverr.com or UpWork and have a freelancer create a mobile application for your business inexpensively. This can be as simple as a checklist or list of resources, or some other helpful piece of information.
On-Page SEO  -  You are probably groaning at the 3 letter acronym SEO. In case you don't know, that stands for search engine optimization. This means making your website, content and webpages attractive to Google and the other search engines. If you have fallen prey to so-called experts that promised to deliver search engine rankings by offering their SEO services, it is understood that search engine optimization is a topic you would like to avoid.
Blogging  -  Guest blogging doesn't provide the big traffic boost that it used to. However, it is still a great way to reach a large audience. Contact the owners of the biggest blogs relevant to your niche or market. Offer to write an original, high-value blog post for their site. In return you ask for a link back to your website.
Answer Questions on Q and A Websites  -  There are sites which allow web surfers to post questions about anything and everything. Online marketers like yourself answer those questions, and the question that gets the most positive feedback is chosen as the top answer.
Start a Podcast  -  This may seem daunting at first. However, all you really need to start a podcast is a decent microphone and a computer. Odds are you have a blog. There is a pretty good chance that your competitor has a website or blog as well. On the other hand, podcasts are few and far between, which makes them the perfect free traffic source that sets you apart from your competition.

How To Find a Profitable Niche - Best Strategies For 2017

Begin With What You Know
When you set out to start your internet business, the first thing that you should think about is what you already know. Make a list of your hobbies, interests, education and even work experience. Almost anything and everything you can think of can be your profitable niche.Image result for images of niches
Now, use this time to think outside the box. Remember classes from high school and college where you received information that might be helpful to other people, even books and magazines that you read. Whatever knowledge you might have rumbling around in your head you need to write it down and get ready to use it.
Go through a typical week in your life, what do you do on a daily basis that other people might find beneficial. Are you able to home school children of different ages, do you feed a large family on a very tight budget or do you have a chore system that keeps the house clean and functioning no matter how many activities cloud the calendar.
There is plenty of information that you have right now that would help other people and that many people would be willing to pay to learn. The key is to get the possibilities laid out in front of you and then begin to build a plan around that information that will help you create opportunities to start making some money.
Next, you might want to ask friends and family about what they think are some of your strong points. Get the people that know you best to make separate lists about areas that they think you excel and have the most knowledge in. The only right answers to this project are lots of answers. After all is said and done you will have several possibilities for launching your internet niche. The next step is to decide which area is something you have a passion for and bring you the most satisfaction. You will work harder at something if you have a real love for what it is you are doing so make sure you pick a niche category that you will enjoy working with day in and day out.
Choose Your Passion
Most everyone is good at something that they don't necessarily like doing, they have the talent or a gift for it but just don't have the heart. Although it might be possible to find moderate success in areas that you are simply good ( or talented at ) you will find much more success in those areas where you have a deep seated passion.
1. What would you do if money was no object? If you won the lottery tomorrow or came into an unexpected inheritance, how would you spend your time? If you would still go to work every day because you enjoy it then you probably have a passion for your chosen career. If you would spend all of your time working in your garden then your passion lies in your plants. The things that you would do whether you could make money or not are the things that you have the most passion for.
2. Would someone else pay you to do what you love? You might be surprised to find that there are people in the world who hate to do the things that you love doing. Your neighbors might be willing to pay good money to have you bring over a nice dinner each night or have it in their own kitchen when they come home. Your green thumb might turn into some greenbacks if you take some of your plants to the flea market or fairs and sell them to eager buyers or you might do some digging in someone else's yard for a few extra dollars.
3. Can you turn the knowledge you have gained from your passion into a career? This goes back to the same principle you discovered in #2. Just because it's something you know doesn't mean everyone else gets it. You can take your knowledge and love for numbers and balance other people's finances for them. You can take your knack for saving a few dollars at the grocery store and teach others to do the same or do it for them. Your knowledge and experience in an area life may be the perfect way for you to create a living.
Finding your passion is as easy as 1, 2, 3. You Just need to ask yourself a few questions, review the list of strong points and categories that you have generated and see where your heart beats strongest.
What counts most here is your is your knowledge, experience and passion. You will soon have some steps that will help you establish yourself as an expert in the categories you choose to pursue.
But Before you jump in too far, you need to test the waters a bit and see which direction you need to be heading.
Research The Market
Do a keyword search.
a. First make a list of all words you think are associated with the niche you are most interested in pursuing.
b. Include common phrases that would be used when talking about the niche.
c. Use one of the free sites available to see how relevant the keywords and phrases are according to searches that other people are doing.
d. With a list of the most relevant keywords and phrases you will be able to create the best name for your website and the best description for drawing an audience.
Finding the best keywords will help you better understand the market. You will begin to understand what people are searching for and how to meet their needs.
Establish Yourself As An Expert
When people are looking for information about a product or service they prefer to listen to someone who knows the most about that subject or niche. You will have to promote yourself in a number of ways in order to become the dominating factor and a leader in your niche. Remember that it is the experts in different fields that will ultimately become the people most likely to sell books, products or just subscriptions to their sites.
It is not necessarily easy to establish yourself as an expert in any field. It does help however if you have an educational background in the subject area or niche.
But education is not everything. It is still possible to establish yourself as an expert if you are willing to put in the time and effort required.
1. Get in with the in crowd, you need to know who the top dogs are in your niche and you need to be constantly aware of what they are putting on their sites. Reference their material, comment on their sites or even write posts and articles that are inspired by the things that they are writing.
2. Become a guest blogger. Just like with a print magazine, contact the website owners of some of the blogs in your niche and offer to write a blog or series of blogs.
3. Get your name out and the name of your website. You can do this by posting quality articles on all of the free article sites that are out there. Include a link to your website and also include some information about what makes you the person to write about that subject.
4. Regularly visit forums and other groups that are top in your niche. Post quality responses to questions and even create articles based around the questions that you can then refer to readers.
5. Create an About page that includes all of your accomplishments in that particular niche. Include any work you have done in that field and material you may have written and any other pertinent information about your skills, education and abilities.
6. Keep learning and growing and presenting new information every day, the more you know the easier it is to become an expert in your field.
Being an expert in any field can make it easier to be successful in that field. There are still more ways to dominate the niche you have chosen even if you haven't reached expert status yet. Simply put, ANYONE can find their way to internet marketing success, some will find it early on and others will take a little longer.
This is just a summary of what it will take to become a dominating force in whatever niche you choose but, always remember hard work and determination can and will take you a long way toward realizing your dream. Whatever you do keep pushing toward that dream!
